White Charcoal
About: Binchotan also called White Charcoal is made by pyrolyzing wood in a kiln at ~240°C for 120 hours, then raising the temperature to ~1000°C.
What It Contains: Carbon
Advantage: White Charcoal had fixed carbon content (93.9%), which is 22.62% larger in comparison with Black Charcoal, whereas traditional coal had more hydrogen content (5.27%) than White Charcoal. Binchotan has almost no sulfur, while Black Charcoal has approx. 1% sulfur.
Benefit: Extremely porous, White Charcoal has an insane amount of surface area that attracts all sorts of bacteria, humidity, impurities, and chemicals, highly effective for scalp treatment.
